Teacher Fellow


Driven by our mission to ensure every child succeeds, the founding teaching fellows will be responsible for ensuring all students are provided with the academic and character skills to firmly position them on the path to college. Teaching fellows work alongside classroom teachers and develop skills in preparation to take lead classroom positions. Joining our team as a founder provides a unique opportunity to help build the culture and legacy of Ambition Prep as it becomes an enduring and premier education option for generations of students to come. Elementary Teacher


Ambition Preparatory Charter School is deeply committed to ensuring that every student in grades K-8 receive the high-quality education that they deserve. We are a new college preparatory elementary and middle school authorized by the Mississippi Charter School Authorizer Board to open our doors to Kindergarten and first-grade students in Jackson, MS in August 2019. Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students 2. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and is developmentally appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students 3. Prepare lessons that reflect best practices and accommodations for individual differences of students 4. Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor 5. Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior 6. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with the goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects to communicate these objectives to the students 7. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with best practices, specific content knowledge, the physical limitations of the space provided, and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. 8. Strive to implement, by instruction and action, the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives 9. Assess student learning, through observations, authentic performance, and more formal methods, in an ongoing manner, providing frequent student feedback, information to parents and written progress reports 10. Operations Intern


Roles and Responsiblities

The Operations Intern, under the supervision of the Operations Leadership, will assist with the oversight and management of school systems, including facilities, data, food, transportation, technology, attendance, and compliance reporting. Responsibilities of the Operations Intern will include, but are not limited to: 1) Student Recruitment and Marketing Assist with executing the student recruitment plan including mailings, phone calls, events, canvassing;
-Organize and coordinate events
-Review student data
-Track technology inventory and serve as the liaison between the school and IT vendor
-Create and order marketing materials for the school
-Manage the school website and social media updates 2) Operations and Team Management -Work in close partnership with the leadership team to ensure aligned procedures for school
-Become familiar with and work with the Office Manager on day to day office operations
-Participate in student arrival and dismissal, including tardiness and early dismissal
-Manage student information systems and IT data
-Maintain schools supplies 3) Finances -The intern will have an opportunity to become familiar with purchasing procedures and will be introduced to school budgeting.
-Manage the school payment process for activity fees, uniforms, and aftercare 4)Transportation and Food Services -Alongside the Operations Leadership manage daily student transportation to and from -school and student lunch procedures
-Coordinate school field lessons
-Ensure meals are served on time, and food services staff have the necessary tools and supplies 5) Facilities -Monitor the school's facilities and safety procedures/protocols
-Conduct campus audits and ensure compliance
-Assist with facility vendor relations
-Support custodial staff with purchasing of supplies and communicating with vendors 6) Accountability and Reporting -Gather, input, and create data reports as needed for school administrators and federal/state/city agencies
-Ensure school data in the student information system is accurate and up-to-date Desired and Required Experience: -Bachelor's degree required
-Background check passed, required
