Donna McLaurin
Donna McLaurin brings over three decades of experience in student advocacy, mental health services, and academic counseling. A board-certified high school counselor and former social worker, she has supported the academic, emotional, and social development of young people across diverse communities. Her career includes guiding thousands of students in academic planning, college readiness, and social-emotional wellness while developing programs that promote resilience, mental health awareness, and post-secondary success. Ms. McLaurin now serves on the Ambition Preparatory Charter School High School Expansion Committee, ensuring that systems and supports align with the school’s mission and growth.

Working with administrators, teachers, families, and community partners, she has led peer mentoring initiatives, facilitated restorative practices, and organized parent engagement workshops. Her trauma-informed perspective, rooted in her background as a licensed social worker, has strengthened wraparound services for students navigating challenges. Ms. McLaurin is committed to equity and youth empowerment and is excited to support Ambition Prep’s vision for preparing Mississippi’s next generation of leaders.
